Here comes once again My Year in Books! I read 55 books last year out of my original goal of 30. Pretty good! A lot of my reads were classics I got from Feedbooks. My lengthiest title thus far I have read last year, Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. With Game of Thrones (TV) ending last year, I also got curious and read the first book of the series, A Game of Thrones. I also found a new favorite female character in Nastasya Filipovna in Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s The Idiot.
I bought Stardew Valley for myself last Christmas! And I’m addicted. I have logged more than a hundred hours in the game since I bought it. My girlfriend and I have been playing a lot of it together as well. It’s been my go-to every time I get burned out from school and life in general.
I am also still diligently playing chess on the regular. I can definitely say that I have improved since I started with only the basic knowledge of the rules, but I’m definitely not as good as the professionals, of course. I’m just a casual beginner, but it’s fun! I mostly play the Rapid format on Lichess. Since my last post, I have been playing against real players, too! (But not so often, since I still get weirdly nervous about it.)
Every year is a year of trying to get back into coding, and this year is no exception for me. I recently started learning Go. I also revamped Lysianthus! And I always have a couple of secret, useless websites on the side that aren’t for public consumption, of course.
Ms. Yuki Amami, where can I watch your stuff??? After many, many long years, I finally found a complete source for BOSS! I just finished the two seasons, and I’m sad there isn’t more. I’m currently watching Emergency Interrogation Room for all that Yuki Amami goodness. I’ve always liked her since I don’t even remember when. The first dramas I watched of hers were BOSS (incompletely) and Around 40. I don’t even remember how I knew about her, but there it is.
Since I don’t know how to continue or end this post, I’d like to insert this beautiful — possibly my favorite — rendition of Zigeunerweisen by the talented So-Hyun Ko instead:
